Guide to choosing firewood

Lighting a fire is the perfect way to warm up your home over winter and creates a wonderful ambiance. As part of the Tui Fire range we have a number of firewood options to keep you cosy.

Tui Briquettes

Tui Briquettes are a high-performance fuel product made from 100% recycled New Zealand milled wood, offering a convenient alternative to traditional firewood.

Tui Briquettes produce more heat and burn longer than traditional firewood. Independent testing shows that they have an approximate 80-minute burn time, which also means you don’t need as many in your fire. Tui Briquettes are easy to store, easy to use and suitable for use in indoor and outdoor fireplaces and braziers.

How to use

  • Crumple 3–5 sheets of newspaper into balls and place in the centre of your appliance. Lean approximately 10 pieces of Tui Kindling on the newspaper, making a tee-pee formation.
  • Light the newspaper.
  • Once the kindling is fully alight carefully place up to two Tui Briquettes on the fire at a time.

Tui Roundwood

Tui Roundwood is made from high quality, New Zealand sourced, dry pine wood. Tui Roundwood logs are clean cut and clean handling, meaning they look great when stored and you don’t have to worry about mess around your fireplace.

The round logs are highly condensed, meaning they provide high heat output and burn longer than traditional firewood. Tui Roundwood is easy to store, easy to use and suitable for use in indoor and outdoor fireplaces and braziers.
